It is a long way from washing chicken trucks in Canton, Mississippi to standing on the stage of Saturday Night Live next to Roy Orbison and Dennis Hopper, but this is how far Bucky has come. He started playing in high school and at night would sneak in the back door of the night clubs and sit, listening and learning from the likes of BB King, Muddy Waters, Albert King, Bobby Blue Bland, and Elmore James. Bucky spent the '60s and '70s honing his craft while playing with the best in the music business at that time: B.J. Thomas, Dotty West, Chet Atkins, Ray Charles. The list goes on and on. What fortune, while with the Nashville Superpickers band performing in Europe, Bucky got the call and was asked if he’d like to finish the Roy Orbison tour since Roy’s lead guitar player left before the tour finished. This incredible friendship developed and Roy and his buddy Bucky played together for over six years.

Bucky played on the  Grammy award winning song "Crying" with Roy and kd lang. Bucky did all of the guitar work on that song. Bucky's reputation in the music industry is impeccable and his performance/recording credits are truly impressive. He has played electric and acoustic on over 1600 albums.
